For a Crash Course in Online Marketing ….

Small Business Marketing Unleased - crash course in online marketingA few weeks ago a reader, Marie, emailed me.

“I come from a traditional marketing background,” she said. “I’m still learning about online marketing and was wondering if you could recommend a seminar that would get me up to speed quickly.”

I emailed Marie back and recommended that she attend the Small Business Marketing Unleashed Conference on September 22 - 23, 2008 in Columbus, Ohio. It’s the closest thing to a crash course in online marketing that I know of — for small business owners, managers, entrepreneurs and independent professionals.

It’s a 2-day session that covers a full range of the latest online marketing techniques. With 11 presenters (well-known nationally for their small biz marketing expertise), it covers:

  • search engine optimization
  • social media marketing
  • link building
  • pay-per-click advertising
  • blogging
  • copywriting
  • email marketing
  • viral marketing … and much more

I will be giving the morning keynote on day 2: “Marketing Mania: Driving Business without Driving Yourself Crazy.”

Hope to see you there. Register before the end of August to take advantage of early bird rates.

This does sound like a good beginner lesson for online marketing. I may have to consider attending since I’m a newbie myself.

  3. Susan Oakes Says:

    Anita,

For those of us not living in the US are there any options for this conference or conferences in the future to learn from the experts, eg virtual conference. MarketingProfs do this once a year.

  4. Marketing Deviant Says:

Sounds great! Even if the price is high.

Online marketing - agh! What to do? What NOT to do? It’s anybody’s guess and, at times, may even feel like a “crap shoot.” :-) But it’s important to test things and be flexible about it. Because what works for others may not necessarily work for you and your business. This event sounds like a really good idea. I think everyone is wondering how to market online. May have to consider this one myself . . . thanks for pointing it out.

I ask the same question as Susan Oakes. I would be interesting to attend a virtual conference.

Susan: I will send you the BBQ recipes! ;)

Anita: Maybe I could combine my next visit to America with going to conferences. I have to visit my home state, Ohio, on my next trip…

I would like to include that starting an internet home business is not everybody’s cup of tea. It needs dedication, seriousness and constant strenuous efforts to promote it to get targeted tarffic to make it a grand success. Many people start an internet business but after sometime loose interest and hence fail. Many even do not know how to start it successfully. I recomend focussing on professional domain name, paid hosting, highly profesionally designed website, convincing sales page, easy site navigation, easy and all payment options, money back guarantee, high quality main product and bonuses as well, intime e-mail support to visitor’s queries, online credibility and effective ways to get laser targeted tarffic to generate more sales and achieve maximum conversion. AND finally to continue and work on what works for your business and improve which brings in poor results.
