Fun Business Cartoons

HumorFebruary 14, 2008By Anita Campbell

I love Ted Goff’s business cartoons, called “Mostly Business.” Here is one that illustrates what our fractured days as business owners and executives are like sometimes:

Mostly Business Cartoon Sample - Nice work

Ted says he has been “drawing cartoons forever, and selling them since 1980. I suppose being a cartoonist is a slightly unusual profession — but it’s what I’ve always wanted to do. Not only can I do the thing I love best, but I work from home, spend lots of time with my family, and there are no meetings.”

He goes on to say, “My cartoons have appeared in hundreds of publications around the world, and have been used in ads, presentations, resumes (believe it or not), T-shirts, newsletters, textbooks and posters. Thanks to the web, I often hear from great people on every continent who need cartoons to accompany their ideas.”

Ted offers a daily rotating cartoon that is free to use on websites. I’ve added the daily cartoon code here to the site on the sidebar. Tell me if it puts a smile on your face, and I’ll keep it.

Remember, Ted is a small business owner himself and drawing cartoons is his business. So if you want to use his cartoons in presentations, on T-shirts and for other uses besides the daily rotating cartoon, you have to pay for them. But the price seems very reasonable, starting at $40 and up.

That’s a really cool profession which I can do as a side job! The image is too small and needs to be a bit bigger =).

Thanks for that, Anita. I read your blog regularly but don’t often find things which are useful to a micro (me + 1 other) business in the UK. This is brilliant!

    Anita,

I will add “Mostly Business” to my Pageflakes and Netvibes.

May I do a plug for the editorial cartoonists John Cox & Allen Forkum? ;)

    All the Best,

P.S. Thanks for relating to the EGO power review! :)

Hi David (MarketingDeviant), yes, the image on the sidebar is a little small, but it’s really just a button. If you click on it, a small pop-up window pops up and you can see the full-size cartoon.

Hi Martin, I know of Cox and Forkum — love their cartoons, too, in a different way. But theirs are more political, whereas I like business better than politics. :)

    Best,
    Anita

Hi Hazel, I edited your URL — it had been misspelled. :)

Thanks for commenting. We’ll try to offer more of interest to our U.K. microbusiness counterparts. I appreciate the feedback, very much.

    Best,
    Anita

A nice little addition to keep things light. It certainly makes me laugh.
