Veteran Owned Business Symposium
If you are a member of the U.S. military, National Guard, Reserves or a veteran who owns your business (or wants to), or a spouse, listen up.
The 5th Annual Veteran Owned Business Symposium takes place Thursday, November 29, 2007. This is the premier Veteran-focused small business event in the Mid-West and the 2nd largest event of its type in the United States.
This one day event will have a dual focus:
I. Selling to the Department of Defense with a highlight on the incentives for Veterans and Service-Connected Disabled Veterans
II. Franchising Opportunities and a special program for Veterans
The event provides something for everyone – from the fledgling entrepreneur looking for business direction to the seasoned company looking to increase revenues with governmental and corporate clients. But you don’t have to be in business to attend and benefit from the multitude of resources available.
Additionally, you will receive updates on several pending legislative issues affecting Veteran and service disabled Veteran owned businesses. There will be ample time to talk to corporate and governmental buyers who are looking to buy products and services from veteran-owned small businesses.
Speakers include:
Scott Denniston
Director of Office of Small Business Veterans Affairs
William Elmore
Associate Administrator, Office of Veterans Business Development
U.S. Small Business Administration
James Lloyd
Small Business Programs, Office of the Secretary of the Army
Timothy Foreman
Director, Small Business Programs, Office of the Secretary of the Navy
John Caporal
Deputy Director, Small Business Programs, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force
Note: Joel Libava, who contributes here at Small Business Trends, will be speaking on the topic of franchising. You will get a chance to pick his brain up close and personal.
