How to Get Written About in USAToday

Get written about in Small Business ConnectionDo you ever wonder what it takes to get your small business written about in the USAToday Small Business Connection blog column?

Jim Hopkins, the Editor, makes it easy on you. He says, “Please join my entrepreneurs panel!”

You can fill out an online survey with some information about you and include your contact details. Then you become part of his small-business virtual advisory panel. Jim says it has nearly 1,500 members.

Sounds to me like a great tip to possibly get media coverage for your company. UPDATE jANUARY 25, 2008: Per the comments below, it looks like USAToday’s Small Biz blog is gone.

Thank you. However, the link didn’t work - is that because it’s only open to US companies!?

  7. Anita Campbell Says:

Hi Gids, it looks like the Small Business Connection blog column at USAToday is down for system maintenance at the moment.

As far as non-U.S. companies, I don’t know if that would disqualify or not. You could email Jim (once the column is back up) and ask him. He is accessible on the site. :)

    Best,
    Anita

    Shara,

I can’t find his blog, but you could search for his articles:

Please tell me more about your site Work.com and the How-to Guides for running a business. I am interested in how to develop your business plan and and learn more about the franchise industry.

Yes, Shara, I think it’s gone. A while back I read that Jim was going to be moving to the Tech beat at USAToday, to a tech blog. It looks like the small biz blog he was doing is kaput.

In a way it doesn’t surprise me. Too many small biz sites being started and not enough to distinguish any of them.

Thanks for finding Jim’s articles, Martin.

    Anita
