Selling is Dead Naming Contest - Join In!
The authors of “Selling is Dead” have asked Ron McDaniel, the CEO of Buzzoodle, and me to participate in naming their new eNewsletter, which will have all kinds of innovative sales advice.
So we are holding a naming contest. This is the voting post for that contest. We would like to involve you, the readers, in the naming contest.
Oh, and in the interest of full disclosure, the authors are not paying Ron or me.
Mainly this is just about having fun creating some buzz back and forth.
So here is what I want you to do. If you came here via the Selling is Dead or Buzzoodle blogs and just want to cut to the chase and vote, then skip down to the end of this post. Otherwise, if this is the first time you are seeing anything about this little contest and want to know more, then follow these three steps:
(1) Go over to the Selling is Dead blog, and read the first post for background.
(2) Go over to the Buzzoodle Buzz Marketing blog, and read Ron’s description of the nomination process, and how he arrived at the three finalist names.
(3) Vote on the name that you want, by leaving a comment below.
The finalists for the “Selling is Dead” eNewsletter naming are:
Sales Buffet
Selling: DOA
SALEutions
So, please vote, by leaving a comment to this post with your favorite of the three names.
The naming contest will run through Wednesday, November 23, 2005.

I vote for Selling: DOA. It’s interesting. The other two don’t appear to have any tie-in and I’m not sure what they mean. At least I’m likely to check out Selling: DOA.

Hi, Anita Campbell, the editor, here:
As an aside, “Selling is Dead” is the same book that we were giving away in the ramdom drawing of readers who took our recent survey about selling to small businesses. The survey and the giveaway are now closed. The survey results will be published soon — in November — and the winners of the book announced shortly, also. The authors were kind enough to donate the books for the giveaway.
The only reason I mention it is, that I thought some of you might recognize the name of the book.
(I hope this comment is not confusing. If you are not sure what I am talking about, then just ignore this comment.)

Phooey, I’m always a day late. (grin) I came up with “Sid Says” (Selling Is Dead = S.i.d.) You could have “Ask Sid” & “The Sid Scene” & “Sid’s Way” and on and on and on. If forced to chose from the 3, I would pick SALEutions.
